Apparel fit and construction checks, QC photo interpretation, fabric behaviour after washing
Nadia Brandt spent five years as a garment quality inspector for a Rotterdam importer before moving into editorial work in 2016, first writing fit notes for a Dutch fashion retail blog and then running its sample-testing desk. She joined CNFans Sheet in 2022 to take charge of apparel reviews, and she is the editor who actually wears the items we order. Nadia set up our light-box protocol for comparing warehouse QC photos against listing photos, and she maintains the wash-test log that feeds shrinkage notes into every clothing review.
9 years covering this niche
- size chart verification
- stitch density and seam construction
- QC photo comparison under neutral light
- shrinkage after a 30-degree wash
- fibre content and care labels
- footwear sizing and last shape
How I test
Nadia opens every apparel parcel on the day it arrives and photographs it flat, on a hanger and on a body. She measures chest, shoulder, sleeve and inseam against the published size chart, checks seam density and stitch regularity at four points, and reads every label for fibre content and care instructions. Each garment gets one wash at 30 degrees and is re-measured after drying, with shrinkage recorded to the nearest half centimetre. QC photo sets are compared on the light box for colour, print placement and label text before a score is set.

ERD Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: We Counted Stitches per Inch and Checked the Shoulder Taping
Two $8.51 ERD face-print tees, counted stitch by stitch: even cover-stitched hems, taped shoulders and a 4.2 / 5 score — with sizing still open until you request flat measurements.
MLB Blue Printed Streetwear T-Shirt—Special Offer Review: Six Days in a Vacuum Bag — Crease Recovery and Fold-Line Print Damage on a $3.73 Milk-Silk Tee
Vacuum-packed for six days then washed at 30 °C, our $3.73 MLB milk-silk tee lost 1 cm of length but none of its blue back-print ink at the fold lines. Crease map, flat measurements and agent shipping notes.
Amiri Letter-Print Logo T-Shirt Review: We Burned a Yarn Sample to Check the 100% Cotton Claim
We ordered the $8.36 Amiri letter-print tee twice, burned a yarn sample to verify the pure-cotton claim and audited the care label against the listing. Here is what the fibre, the seams and the print actually did.
BKTSQD Multicolor Shorts Collection Review: Hand-Feel, Lining Contact and One Hour of Running in a $10.15 Short
We ran, washed and re-measured the $10.15 BKTSQD shorts in two prints. The quick-dry shell works, the polyester lining is the comfort variable, and the leg is genuinely loose.
Foreign Trade Brown T-Shirt Review: The Pre-Pack Brief We Hand the Warehouse for a $5.97 Cotton Crew
Our size L sample weighed 205 g on the bench scale, measured 55 cm flat across the chest and lost 0.5 cm in length after a 30 °C wash — the pre-pack brief we send with this $5.97 cotton crew.
Rhude Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: Stitch Counts at Four Seams on an $8.36 Combed-Cotton Tee
We counted stitches at four seams, measured two tees flat and washed one at 30 degrees. The $8.36 Rhude tee holds up on construction; the ordering problem is 45 colour codes and no published size chart.
Batch Two Didn't Match Batch One: Re-Ordering the $7.01 Maison Margiela Print Tee
We bought one colour code, logged it, then re-ordered the same SKU three weeks later. Chest and length held within a centimetre; print placement and the washed black shade did not. Here is what to compare before you approve a parcel.
Gucci Black T-Shirt in Casual Streetwear Style Review: We Turned It Inside Out to Read the Print Backing and Seam Allowance
We cut open nothing and hid nothing: a $7.31 black cotton crewneck, turned inside out to check print backing, seam allowance and stitch density, then measured flat and washed at 30°C.
Celine All-Over Print Green Shorts: Parcel Weight, Fold Lines and a $5.22 Consolidation Call
We ordered the green pair at $5.22, measured waist, hip, inseam and leg opening, checked four seam points, washed once at 30°C and logged how little bulk it adds to a consolidation box.
Bape Classic Monkey Print T-Shirt Collection Review: Shrinkage, Neckline Recovery and the 250–300 gsm Band
We ordered three units across two colour codes, weighed them, measured every seam against the chart and washed at 30°C. The $7.31 cotton body holds up; the letter size does not.
Lee Black T-Shirt Review: A $4.18 Cotton Crew Weighed Before It Joins Your Haul
We ordered both cotton builds of Lee's $4.18 baseball-print crew and weighed, measured and washed them. The 250g version justifies the upgrade; the listing's 0.00 kg weight field does not.
Stussy Letter-Print Black T-Shirt Review: Reading the Sheet, Then Testing the Tee
We ordered the $8.06 Stussy letter-print tee through the sheet twice. Its 250–300 gsm cotton, loose cut and S–XXL run held up in measurement; the print method is still unconfirmed.
